Can I just make a donation?
Yes! You can donate using the donate button above or by clicking here. All donations support our programming to serve those most in need through nourishment, gardening, and education.
Is there a carry-out option?
Yes! You can get a to-go order in 2 ways:
You can park and enter the building and tell those serving food you want it “to go.” You can either pre-pay or pay our “cashiers” inside and then leave and enjoy your meal at home.
You can prepay, park, and go to our walk-up window at the west side of the building. We will have meal items pre-packaged so you simply present your order to the person at the window and they will fill it for you. You cannot pay at the window. Please note that we cannot anticipate if there will be a line at any given point in time, but since the orders are already packaged to-go, it will likely be faster than going inside. NO bowls or merch will be handed out through the walk-up window.
There is no drive-thru option.
Do I have to buy food?
Nope! You can purchase a bowl, gifts, gear, or just make a donations - you don’t have to dine!
Can I volunteer?
We do need a certain number of volunteers - contact director@goodsaminn.org or 217-429-1455 if you want to volunteer.
Are the bowls food-safe?
Yes! We do recommend hand-washing and avoiding the microwave as this can cause their lifespan to decrease.
Am I guaranteed a seat?
We hope that everyone can find a seat when they arrive. However, we don’t know exactly how many people will be present at any given time. We want to maintain everyone’s ability to social distance outside their group, so if we hit capacity we may have to ask you to wait until seats open up. We can safely fit more than 100 people at a time, so we hope to accommodate a rush at any time.
I pre-paid but now I want to change my order - what do I do?
If you need to add to it, you can just do a second order.
If you want to change your food choice to one of equal or lesser value, you can just do that when you get your food.
We don’t have a method of refunding all or part of a purchase, so we appreciate your considering it a donation if you ordered more than you will take.

I want to eat in and also take food to go - can I do that?
Sure! You can just instruct those serving on the line which items to serve in dishes and which to pack to-go.
If you want to eat and then get the to-go order later so its as hot as possible when you leave, the best way to do this is to purchase 2 separate orders so you can pay or show you paid for 1 when you eat and then again when you get the to-go order either from the line or by exiting and grabbing it from the walk-up window.
Is it safe to microwave food directly in your to-go containers?
Yes! We are so thankful to La Gondola for providing us microwave-safe containers to package our entrees in.
