The Good Samaritan Inn Awards 2018 Volunteers of the Year, Bill & Jane Kaelin
"We do it because it's the right thing to do."
Bill and Jane Kaelin were honored by The Good Samaritan Inn as recipients of Volunteers of The Year for 2018. A press conference was held on April 26, 2019, at The Good Samaritan Inn to present the award.
“There has been one constant, and a constant we depend on all the time, and that is volunteers,” explains Executive Director Reverend Stacey. On average The Good Samaritan Inn has about 500 volunteers a month. Out of that large number of volunteers, Francie Johnson, the Inn’s volunteer coordinator, selected Bill and Jane Kaelin as Volunteers of the Year due to their support of the Inn and spirit of volunteerism.
Bill and Jane have been volunteering with The Good Samaritan Inn for many years. The Good Samaritan Inn is one of the many organizations that the Kaelin’s volunteer their time with. The Kaelins do not volunteer for the recognition, they say they do it because “it is what you are supposed to do.”
“This is a wonderful wonderful thing and we love it. We get more out of it than the people that come. We are blessed to be a part of it,” states Bill Kaelin.
The Good Samaritan Inn thanks Bill and Jane Kaelin for all of their hard work and support throughout the years. The organization is very grateful to have such dedicated volunteers like them.
The Good Samaritan Inn seeks to create opportunities with the support of our community toward improving the lives of our economically disadvantaged neighbors through daily nourishment, life skills education, and job training programs.
